Light Walking
For a properly installed residential lawn, careful walking may be possible relatively soon after installation, provided the installer confirms that the seams and perimeter fixing will not be disturbed.
Avoid:
- dragging furniture,
- sharp objects,
- concentrated loads,
- repeatedly walking directly along fresh seams.
Children
Children tend to generate more dynamic loading than normal walking.
Running, jumping and repeated movement can place considerably more stress on newly bonded seams.
Therefore, the area should not be opened to normal children’s play simply because the turf looks finished.
Wait until the adhesive and other installation components have reached the manufacturer’s specified usable condition.
Pets
Pets create a different problem: digging and pulling.
Even if the surface can tolerate walking, a dog attempting to dig at a newly installed edge or seam can damage an incompletely cured connection.
For pet areas, allowing adequate curing before normal use is particularly important.
