Non-infill artificial turf can often be walked on shortly after installation, but “immediately usable” should not be treated as a universal rule. The critical factor is usually the condition of the seams, adhesive, perimeter fixing and installation system.
Unlike infilled artificial turf, non-infill turf does not require a settling period for sand or rubber infill. Once the carpet has been correctly positioned and secured, there is no loose infill layer that needs to settle.
However, newly bonded seams need sufficient time to develop handling and final bond strength. The actual waiting period depends on the adhesive system, temperature, humidity, substrate condition and manufacturer’s installation instructions.
