1. There Is No Loose Infill Layer to Settle
Traditional infilled artificial turf uses materials such as silica sand, rubber or other granular infill.
After installation, the infill needs to be:
- distributed,
- brushed into the turf,
- leveled,
- compacted where required,
- checked and sometimes topped up.
The surface can therefore require additional adjustment after installation.
A non-infill system removes this particular step.
Its surface stability comes primarily from the turf construction itself and the installation system, including:
- tuft density,
- yarn construction,
- backing,
- seam bonding,
- perimeter fixing,
- shock pad where applicable,
- prepared base.
Therefore, non-infill turf does not have the same type of infill-settling period.
